August 2025 Factory Update
8 months ago – Tue, Aug 19, 2025 at 04:48:25 PM

After our last update we sent over questions and revisions to the factory. Our factory rep had questions about the figures, but those have been addressed and the figures are approved and ready for the next step!

Unfortunately we identified some issues with the accessories. Although we designed all the accessories to be the same diameter, this was not properly communicated to the factory and some of these tight tolerances were lost in the tooling, leaving some too large, some too small, and some just right. But we are talking 10ths to 100ths on millimeters in size variations. If caught on the front end, new tooling would have been created, but on the back end of things, it is incredibly difficult to modify tooling at the micrometer scale. The factory has done a great job addressing our concerns and we now see a light at the end of the tunnel. Here's a quick but not exhaustive rundown of the accessory revisions.

  1. Arrowhead was too large. Our fear that someone would break the bow trying to get the arrow to fit.
  2. Peg on figure stand didn't match the one on the foot wedge, causing some improper fitting.
  3.  Ports on the front of the backpacks were too small, causing accessories to not fit properly.
  4. Some accessory pegs were too small, causing them to be loose and not fit properly.

We sent these revisions in June of 2025 and received communication back this week. We have replied back to the factory and are now awaiting what is needed to move forward.

June 2025 Update
9 months ago – Thu, Jun 26, 2025 at 01:12:26 PM

We know it’s been a while since our last update, so we thank you for your patience. We still don’t fully understand the impacts of the tariffs, but we have to finish production before we tackle that.

Now to the update, what I’m calling the good, the bad, the ugly, and the optimist. I will cover the update in text below, but have also recorded a video that talks through the status of the project. I would recommend watching the video as I go off script a bit. So some things may have been mentioned in the video but not covered in the text below.

At the end of  March we received packaged samples. First the good. The figures look fantastic, feel great in hand, accessories fit great. Packaging is amazing!

Now the bad. The figures have some flaws that we just can’t live with. Some of the heads were loose, the legs won’t stay straight, feet have different sized foot holes that are different sizes (meaning they made two different stands), and the backpacks will not fit because the hole in the torso was too shallow. One of the backpacks even has the incorrect peg, which makes me think the factory didn’t realize that they were backpacks.

The ugly. How did we get here? Sometime after tooling was finished last summer, we should’ve received samples, but we didn’t. We don’t know why. So where we are right now, should have happened last year.

The optimist. Another toy maker that uses our factory is helping us out.  He’s incredible. Thanks to his relationship with the factory, he has us back on track. Here are the samples that we showed at JoeFest.

The legs are fixed, the backpacks fit great, and they have corrected the foot holes and figure stands. The heads have a little up and down wiggle, but they are not loose. They don’t fit as well as my anal retentiveness would like, but they are acceptable. The figures are where they need to be. Everyone at the show was ecstatic about the feel of the figures in hand.

We identified some small revisions that need to be made on a few accessories and body parts, so we will address those this week.

Once again, we are thankful for your support and patience. Trust me when I say that we are more frustrated than anyone.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me here on Kickstarter, or on Facebook, X, or Instagram.

March 2025 Update
about 1 year ago – Thu, Mar 13, 2025 at 03:02:28 AM

99% Finalized Packaging Samples.

Here are the last things we are finalizing:

- Obake has incorrect weapons. For some reason the factory gave him Kyonshii’s weapons. We know his accessories were tooled and molded, so likely just a mistake.

- Torashi’s claws are currently unpainted. Should be silver. We became aware of this two weeks ago and informed the factory (along with a few other incorrect painted accessories), but it was not corrected.

- Finally…Ikiryo’s cape. Way back in September, the factory sent us a pic of Ikiryo with a white cape. We informed them that it was supposed to be clear. We heard nothing about this until two weeks ago when they said that they are unable to do clear vinyl. We are exploring several options and should have a remedy soon.

February 2025 Accessory Pack Update
about 1 year ago – Wed, Feb 26, 2025 at 04:01:37 PM

We have been so focused on getting figures finalized, so it’s great to get an update on the accessory packs!

These are the first pictures we’ve received of these and the transparent parts look amazing! And the blood splattered accessories turned out exactly as we had hoped!

Quick figure update. Figures are 100% approved, but some of the figure accessories were miscolored. This week the factory is addressing what we hope to be final revisions.

February 2025 update
about 1 year ago – Thu, Feb 13, 2025 at 02:03:32 PM

We made it through Chinese New Year! As independent toy makers, this time of year always causes stress and anxiety because we know that it causes delay.

That being said, we just received progress pictures from the factory concerning the card backs! See images at the end of the post. Note that there are two other backs that are not shown.

We are currently working through the packaging bubbles. We were told that the factory could not produce the bubbles that we asked for, but they are working on a solution. We hope to finalize the bubbles next week.
